Google Calendar: Deal Snitch Freebie of the Year.
29 04 2006Not only is it completely free with no strings attached, but it’s also the best tool yet for freebie hunters.
If you haven’t yet played with the new, completely free and very cool Google Calendar, you’re missing out on a great personal tool but also something that can be an incredible help when getting freebies such as the recently-posted free Alienware Laptop Deal.
The calendar is full of features and it’s very likely that you can find a better review of the functionality elsewhere, or from Google themselves.
What we’re mainly concerned with here is its value as a freebie-hunter’s tool. If you’ve ever signed up for free trial offers, you’ll know that the merchants are banking on you forgetting to cancel before your credit card is billed. So, we’ve recommended in the past that you mark the dates down that you’ll need to cancel and check them daily. And now, there’s no better way to do that than with Google Calendar.
Simply create a new profile within your calendar. Name it, let’s say, “Trial Offers.” Now you can mark down the date you signed up for the offer, the date you’ll need to cancel by, the date you cancel, and you can even add any pertinent information in the notes section for each calendar entry, such as a confirmation number or contact info for the company.
Not only will this help keep your freebies free and protect your credit card from unwanted charges, but it may also prove to be a valuable record if some paperwork gets mixed up at one of the companies.
While you’re at it, mark down when your new freebie should be shipped, when you completed all the offers, etc. Google Calendar really can be a Freebie Hunter’s best friend, plus it’s free with no strings attached.
That just made it a shoe-in to become the first Deal Snitch Freebie of the Year.
